Varanasi: The matter of the Gyanvapi complex in Varanasi has now reached the Supreme Court. A few days ago, the High Court ordered carbon dating of the alleged Shivling found during the survey of the Gyanvapi Court Commission to know how old it is. The Muslim side has lodged an objection regarding this and has approached the Supreme Court

Although it was already expected that the Muslim side would not sit quietly, it would take some other step to stop it, in such a situation, the Muslim side has appealed to the Supreme Court against the decision of the High Court.

Advocate Huzefa Ahmadi has filed this petition on behalf of the Muslim side in the Supreme Court. In which he has said that he told about the passing of the order of the High Court and said that he has given permission for carbon dating.
A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court and now Chief Justice DY Chandrachun and Justices PS Narasimha, JB Padriwala will hear the matter tomorrow.

However, earlier the High Court had refused this carbon dating survey because for this method they would have to remove 10 grams of Shivling due to which Shivling would be damaged, in such a case this petition was dismissed.

The new technique of Carbon Dating will not cause any harm to Shivling:
Now that the new technique of carbon dating has come, under which carbon dating of Shivling can be done without touching it and its antiquity can be ascertained, the High Court has passed an order in favor of it. Let us inform you that this aspect was told to the High Court by the Archaeological Survey of India after consulting various scientific institutions, IITs, and experts in the country.
It may be mentioned that the Varanasi District Court declared the Shivlinga figure found in the Gyanvapi premises during the Court Commission survey as Adi Vishweshwar and banned its worship after declaring it as protected. For a complete investigation of this matter, the Hindu side had demanded the District Court to trace the Shivling through carbon dating or other scientific methods.

On which the district court had given a verdict against the Hindu side and said that it could damage the Shivling. After this, the matter went to the High Court and the High Court has given permission for carbon dating to find out about this technique completely. Against this, the Muslim side has filed a petition in the Supreme Court.
