Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, posted a video on X and said, “Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation is a major step towards rebuilding and improving our education system. Well done to students across the country. We are proud of all of you. Heartfelt congratulations to every young person and every student who came out on the streets and stood firm to defend democracy, the Constitution, and their future.”

Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal also called it a victory for democracy. He posted a video on his X account and said that it was a victory for students and the result of their continued efforts. Kejriwal applauded the students who took part in the protests. The former Delhi Chief Minister said in the video, “Big congratulations to the youth and Gen Z. Your efforts have led to Dharmendra Pradhan resigning from his post. After such a massive movement, the government’s arrogance was broken by the voice of the people. This is a big win for democracy.”

Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that the voices of students had finally reached the doors of an arrogant government. He further added, “This is a win for all the families who lost their loved ones because of the government’s corruption. It is also a victory for the united opposition, which spoke up for students both in Parliament and on the streets. Now, Mr. Modi should apologize to the country’s youth and take strict action against those who used force, such as lathis, batons, and pellet guns, against them.”

Climate activist and educationist Sonam Wangchuk also posted on X, calling Pradhan’s resignation a victory for democracy. Wangchuk, who joined the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)-led protest demanding the Education Minister’s resignation, began a hunger strike on June 28. He ended the fast after 26 days on Thursday night after the government assured him that it would discuss the NEET paper leak and look into the matter seriously.

    IT'S A VICTORY OF DEMOCRACY
direct democracy… straight from the streets.
It's a victory of peace, patience & persévérance.
Congratulations CJP, Gen Z of the nation and thank you all citizens for shedding fear and the fear of fear and rising up from every corner of the nation.… pic.twitter.com/rSLOfvba2R

Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav posted on X, “This is not a resignation, it’s a revolution!” After the Pradhan’s tweet.
