FACT-CHECK & VERIFICATION POLICY 2026–2027

Jansandesh Times is committed to accurate, verified, fair and credible journalism.

  1. Verification: Important news, claims, data, statements, photographs, videos and viral content shall be verified through credible sources before publication.
  2. Reliable Sources: Official and primary sources shall be preferred wherever possible. Independent confirmation shall be sought for significant claims.
  3. Unverified Information: Unverified information shall not be presented as fact and, where necessary, the source shall be clearly identified.
  4. Digital & AI Content: AI-generated or digitally manipulated photographs, videos, audio or other content shall not be presented as authentic without appropriate verification.
  5. Fairness: Fact-checking shall be conducted using consistent standards for individuals, organisations and political groups.
  6. Corrections: Factual errors shall be corrected promptly. In cases of serious errors, a clarification, correction or retraction may be issued.
  7. Transparency:Jansandesh Times is committed to acknowledging errors, correcting them responsibly and providing readers with accurate information.
