From raising the issue of high chai-samosa prices at airports to highlighting gig workers’ problems very vocally in Parliament, Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha broke his silence on the NEET paper leak issue and the protests that took place on the streets of Delhi a few days ago.

After remaining completely silent and facing criticism across social media, the young leader finally opened his mouth on Friday in Parliament. He admitted that his role has changed now and said, “Earlier, when I was in the Opposition, it was my job to raise questions, and I did it honestly. Now I am on the treasury benches, so my role has changed. My responsibility is no longer to ask questions but to provide solutions.”

Raghav Chadha, who is known for raising issues concerning young Indians, the former AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) leader, took a dig at his former party, alleging serious irregularities in the Punjab Pharmacy Officer recruitment examination held on July 19. He also added that since the AAP came to power in Punjab, there have been many irregularities in examinations.

Raghav Chadha says PM Modi is like a guardian

The former AAP MP stated that the NDA led government acted quickly after hearing the concerns of students, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi acting like a guardian.

“When students voiced their concerns, the Prime Minister listened to them like a guardian and changed the system. For the first time, our government has introduced a comprehensive framework to deal with paper leaks. When it came to students, the government listened and acted,” Chadha said.Don’t need limelight.

Further, while participating in the debate on the proposed anti-paper leak legislation, he said that he deliberately avoided interacting with the media. The MP said that he promised himself he would only come forward to speak on the issue when he had a solution. “I don’t want unnecessary limelight or to make statements just to be in the media,” Raghav said.

Paper leaks are a chronic disease

In his speech, Raghav Chadha referred to paper leaks as a “chronic disease” and urged political parties not to view the issue through a partisan lens.

He emphasized that accountability and ethics should take precedence over politics, regardless of which party governs the state where an examination scandal occurs. “It should not matter which state witnessed the paper leak, which minister was in charge, or which political party was in power,” he said, calling for bipartisan support to restore the credibility of public examinations.
