- Lucknow: As soon as the code of conduct for UP civic elections is over, the state government has started preparing to bring a new transfer policy. The draft of the transfer policy has been sent to the Chief Minister. After getting the approval, the new transfer policy proposal of the Department of Appointment and Personnel will be brought to the cabinet. According to sources, the proposal may be approved in the next cabinet. Under the new policy, the transfer can be started from June 1. This time the departments will be given 25 to 30 days time for transfer.
- This time, the government’s emphasis will be on the online process to curb irregularities in transfers and avoid disputes. Some stringent provisions will be made in the new policy to prevent irregularities. Last year, there were irregularities in the transfers in many departments. After this, action was also taken against many senior officers.

- The new transfer policy can be issued for two years so that there is no confusion among the employees regarding transfers. According to sources, under the new policy, the tenure of three years in the districts and 7 years in the circle can be reduced. As of now, under the existing policy, there is a provision for the transfer of employees who have completed their tenure of three years in districts and seven years in divisions. Group A and B officers in districts cannot be transferred more than 20 percent of their total strength. For Group C and D employees, 10 percent of the total strength can be transferred.
